Ipads and other tablets, how are you displaying/protecting them when sailing?

Looking for inspiration and hoping there are some clever elegant ideas out there. I have seen the thread with the android car stereo showig navionics, which is genius and on the list of long term projects, but looking for something simpler. Especially for the wee boat.
The longbow has a hard doghouse so I reckon I could have a bracket of some kind in there to attach it to, and even have a usb charging port through a cable gland there.
Currently, it goes in a mad case with the strap looped around one of the support struts of the doghouse so it hangs down by the depth sounder. It works but can be difficult to shade if the sun is hitting there.
Thanks.

I just sit my iPad on its standard cover (that folds to make a mini desk top lectern) on the cockpit shelf. it does slide sometimes when the sea is up but I am not that bothered as I don't need to stare at all the time. In wilder weather I fold it away and tuck it into the cockpit lockers. The sun is an issue but I just use my body to shade it when I need to look at the thing.

Mine has an all round cover - can't remember the make, but supposed to be waterproof. Always under the sprayhood fitted onto a RAM bracket.

Ipad in life proof case.
I have velcro on the back (fluffy side so as not to scratch) and hook side of velcro at the chart table and a couple of other places for mounting. i don't have a permanent mounting place in the cockpit as I don't feel the need to constantly refer to it.

Mine sits just inside the companionway entrance and is attached to the inside grabrail with one of these music stand tablet mounts from Amazon, it's easily sturdy enough and the tablet is viewable from the cockpit. I also have a waterproof toughphone for redundancy and would retire the tablet inside if the tablet looked like it might get wet...
Clever idea! I'll order one now.
