Following on from this thread: http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?358617-Wireless-re-broadcasting-AIS-from-PC I've been looking at various VMC apps for the iPad to view the screen of a Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit PC. I figure I'm not the first boat owner to want to do this, so that's why I'm also asking here for any suggestions.

Sensible requirements include:
Must work over local Wi-Fi network without internet access
Retina screen support
Transparent session sharing with host
No resolution changes to host
Ability to lock-out client from mouse and keyboard commands, but still view host screen
Use of native Windows services, assuming this is possible with Windows 7 Home Premium
Under £10, and no adverts

I use ultra vnc and the free vnc viewer app on an iPad.

You are just remote controlling the pc so you have the full facilities of everything on the pc. Sound isn't always forwarded on to the viewing client.
