iPad struggles with this forum!!!

Whilst using my iPad on this site, it very regularly drops it's signal and states "server cannot be found".
It only appears to be with YBW!!!
At all other web pages I have no problems.

For info, I am only about 3m from my newish O2 router.

Any thoughts????

Same problem here with a Netgear router. IF I can't get on here I can always access other sites. Strange.
 
I am on iPad all the time.

I have never had an access problem to the forum, either at home, at others houses or via 3G.

Router settings?
 
You could try cruisers forum - they have an app for iPad which works really well and much easier than through a browser. I find I use their forum all the time now because of the iPad app.Just don't mention guns - the mere mention of them makes the average septic get really excited.

Does anyone know a way to upload photos from an iPad to your albums, or to insert into a post?

As to OP .. No problems using BT hub, or on the Spectrum WiFi at the boat..
 
Could just be that the forum is so popular that occasionally it is too busy to respond in time and your browser thinks it has lost contact. I get this occasionally, especially at what would normally be busy times for the internet. A reload of the page usually works straight away.

Have to say that this is one thing that the iPad is useless at. But I also have to say that I suspect the forum software is partly to blame as well, as I have uploaded photos on other forums running different software.
This is what happens with a Dropbox free account, using the Dropbox App and clicking on the paperclip icon to get the image address gives:

...I tried to replace the square brackets with round ones, just to show the syntax, but the forum software seems to automatically give it url tags and cocks it all up.

Trying to include an image using the Manage Attachments method is just as useless, as the Dropbox image address isn't recognised by the forum software (again, only when submitted on an iPad, it's ok on a laptop).
Maybe I'm missing something basic here, as I have a limited attention span when it comes to things like this that should work easily but don't.

Edit: And if I click on the link above and then copy the url it comes out like this:

Using Flickr is a bit more successful, just go to share, check the BB code button and copy whats in the box. It does give you all rubbish in the tags which you could strip out if you wanted I suppose:

I have spoken to Dropbox support about this. They are aware of the problem ie that the generate public link does not work properly on iPad.

They have promised to fix it in an update soon.
