I have just purchased 'Gumdrop' cases for my ipad 3 and Galaxy tablet. We use tablets in industrial, shop floor and outdoor environments.

At £30 they are price competitive.
While not totally waterproof ( impossible practically if you want the speaker and mic available ) I'd be happy to use a tablet in light rain or in the boat cockpit.
Ruggedised protection in the form of a tough silicon shell with big corners should provide a good level of drop proofing.
The button extensions - power, home, volume etc work very well.
Access to ports such as usb, charge and headphones are behind hinged flaps that provide a means of access without having to demount the case.
Appearance is pretty cool and the ridged casing makes it grip pretty well on uneven surfaces.
The front protective screen is replaceable.
Front cover does not degrade touchscreen performance. ( using provided cover without additional screen protectors )
Daylight readability is reduced somewhat.
Not sure if i can find a compatible ram mount or similar to hold enclosed units ( not important fir our commercial use since its all handheld )
Overall score 8/10
