Does anyone know any more about this?

These fantastic little boats, hull design by Uffa Fox's assistant Bill Waight, have long been a fave of mine - and I wouldn't part with mine for pretty well anything except a new one. The hull moulds have apparently been acquired by Fosdyke Yachts in Boston, Lincs and it looks as though a Dutch builder has built a new one - but my Dutch isn't up to much, so can't be sure

Anyone know any more?

Lovely pics of new IP24 here

I do not know anything but that one looks beautifully finished off! A great boat with a great fit out....bet it is not cheap though....seems about Euro85k to me.

Cheers

God bless Babelfish! Translates as follows:

"Fantastic seaworthy engine borer. 2006: Luxuriously teak casing, gascomfort and reel barge with afdekplaten, Jabsco hydraulic pump, electra, 65 ltr. compressor frigidaire, 180Ah accumulator, toilet, omvormer 300W continue/600W pick with pure sine, Vetus battery charger, accumulator guard, rampart flow, etc. Furthermore: water-gesmeerde schroef-as, hydraulic control, RVS zeerailing with zwemtrap, engine 1995, RVS tanks, RVS bollards, etc. THE IP 24 are a sail hunting with irradiation. Seaworthy, with an unique character. IP stand for Island plastics Ltd, a yard on the island Wight. The ship has been devised both for the pleasure speed and for the fishery with all kinds of variaties of advancement on the same fuselage. In 1985, Hayling Yacht co. have taken over the construction of the IP 24, as far as confessed the boats still are built. THE IP 24 are relatively heavy and are possible much wind have. Them is suitable for zeereizen, but of course also for varen on the waddenzee and the binnenwateren".

I particularly like the fact that they're "a sail hunting with irradiation". I've been searching for something like that for years! Hope this helps.

Yep, 30hp is a bit light; mine has 38hp which pushes her along quite happily at max hull speed of 7kts at max torque. I'd be looking at something like a Beta 38 or 43 for a new one.

The economics of building small boats seem to have pushed most of them out of the market; £60k for a heavy 24' displacement boat that can't be trailered (at least mine can't - she's 3500kg displacement) isn't going to gain big market share.
