inverter to charge laptop

Never considered before, but am thinking this would do the job. Any comments, hints, tips or other recommedations? They are cheaper than I thought.

I don't really understand the difference ...?
Plus then I have the fag of ensuring compatability?
and couldn't I then use inverter for other thng?

an inverter takes 12v dc & steps it up to 240 ac you then use your lappi charger that steps the 240ac down to say 19v dc.
very wasteful with all those losses

I have both but run the lappie on a PWR+ 12v to 19v . In daily use for 4 years now and still going.
