Introduction and some advice please...

I looked at a lot of boats and this fitted what we want. Granted its overpowered for the Thames, but it has a full Bimini cover giving shelter from the elements and the nearest pub toilet gives excuse for a drink :-)

We have agreed to take the boat out of the water over winter, but from a practicality perspective the mooring makes sense to us, as we have no storage for a boat of this size

Incidentally , if anyone wants a 9.9 Yamaha two stroke outboard I'm open to offers !

Looks like he already bought it :D

Trouble is, you are sitting in the river, no view, faceful of smoke in the locks, unusable with the cover up....

Good luck!!!

A bimini will shelter you from the Sun...little else!!

We saw 3 lads and 3 lassies turn up opposite us on satuday night to moor up on Lynch island at Shiplake in a bayliner 185 fully loaded with 3 fishing bivvys for shelter and booze aplenty...it rained after the fireworks at Shiplake finished [hard]and they laughed at the rain as they guzzeled there booze stash .
We sat in our boat lit the fire to dry clothing drank merlot watched a film and went to bed ,Morning came and the girls surfaced with that we realy hate f$%£^&g camping look on there faces ...the lads had a somewhat more contended look so someone enjoyed the night of camping....
Anyways the bayliner looks a real sporty little day boat with the ability to put a smile on your face ragging around on waters without a speed limit
If you areooking to stay overnight and want some creature comforts though??
Pays your money all that jaz

Is Lynch Island the one with the rope swing (coincidence I hope)?

Not sure about any rope swing but the last island before Shiplake lock ,we were moored round the back on the towpath side.
The bayliner in question was broken down briefly at Sonning lock in the morning until the locky helped out with the loan of some spanners and they fixed it .
Coincidence??? Steve.

Yup same island....

I love your binliner too.... Except when she's filling me with sooty exhaust smoke and making me feel lighteheaded... ;)

Eveything good now?

Nice to see you and SWMBO at Rewind.

I was a bit worried about you with all those fumes! Boat is great again and working well, Mark and Phil at Harleyford looked after my boat after I had to abandon it there, lovely guys!

Enjoyed the Rewind as well, already planning for next year :D
