Introduction an a question

Hi all,

I'm returning to sailing after a few years absence.

I have a Jaguar 265 on a fore/aft mooring at Brightlingsea - the town where I grew up.

The aft buoy rests against the starboard quarter on the flood and I'm concerned that the gelcoat will be worn away.

I've lengthened the pick-up line as much as possible and am adapting an old yoga mat to sit between the buoy and the boat.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

I have no suggestions but 'Hi', welcome to this forum. Always liked Brittlesea but could never find a house we liked so went to West Mersea.

Is the buoy going to roll in the tide and rub any exposed barnnies against the gelcoat?

Welcome to the forum.

Nothing Earth shattering to suggest. Obviously adjust the lines as best you can and keep the buoy free from barnacles as much as possible. I'd have suggested a mat between the hull and the buoy, but you've already thought of that. You can buy fender mats.
