Introducing the \"Bouy-bra\"...
Just an idea provoked by the problem with Bouy damage, from which I also suffer, I introduce the Bouy-Bra!
Essentially, you stitch overlapping slabs of old carpet wool side out with stout cords and hold them in their relative places with good comprehensive lashings. Remember those novelty glass fishing floats in their own net bags, in Italian restaurants? Like that, but with carpet. If any manufacturer is interested, PM me, you saw it here first!

I'm going to make one of these for my mooring bouy, and I'll let you know how it works, with pictures after a season.
