For a few days now, I've been experiencing difficulty opening picture links on some websites (for example the P67 site linked to from Magnum's post) and there is usually a message on the bottom left hand side of the page saying 'Error on page'
This has only been happening since I recently installed some Windows updates
Anyone any idea whats going on?

Go into the Tools/Internet Options menu of Internet Explorer then click on the Advanced Tab.
A few items down is a checkbox 'Disable Script Debugging'
If it doesnt have a tick in it click in it so it does and see if that sorts it.

Thanks, boatone but the 'disable script debugging (internet)' box is already ticked. Any other ideas?

Sounds like it could be a connection/cache issue. Try clearing your cache and if the problem persists contact your ISP.

Hmmmm. . . . .

Might sound obvious, but you have got the 'Show Pictures' option ticked in Tools, Internet Options, Advanced haven't you?

You might like to try the following and see if the problem is just in Internet Explorer or any browser. This is much better than IE anyway, so well worth the download!

Mozilla/firefox is a great tool but is still just out of Beta, and while wonderful for general internet browsing, is not great for hard use on somewhere like ybw. It's very fast on general usage, but I find IE faster when using back buttons and the like which I use often when trying to explore these forums, Firefox seems to download everything each time you back button?

On a dial up connection, IE is faster than Firefox for browsing forums like this

If this has only started happening in the past few days, I would go to Internet Options/Advanced and select Restore Defaults.

Re: Pop Ups

You have probably just loaded Windows XP Service Pack 2. This has added a feature to IE6 which prevents pop-up windows unless they are part of a proper link, which I think is a fantastic feature.
You should notice an extra line under the toolbars etc which tells you it has not opened these pop-ups. Give it a right click and select to temporary disable. If you cannot find it there is a new menu item in "Tools" relating to pop-ups.

Hope this helps

Bingo!!!

After some advice from one of my staff I have downloaded MyIE2 as my internet browser and everything works fine now. According to him, Microsoft have recently changed the firewall characteristics of Internet Explorer and this seems to be the cause of my problems
Thanks to everybody for their help

Agree with you about Firefox, but it's not forums he's having probs with so I suggested it to see if his prob was computer or browser based.

As for being just out of beta - Windows is still in beta as far as i can see! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
