If anybody has used Interspeed ULTRA Blue antifouling in the past, be aware that the colour of the new version ULTRA 2 Blue is totally different and is no way remotely a match to the old Blue.

Do not follow Internationals recommendations as to the nearest match to the old blue. I purposely contacted them before making a purchase, and was told the new blue YBC752 was an acceptable match to the old blue YBA333. It Isn’t.

I did not expect an exact spot on match, but the difference is a joke.

Disregard the colour swatch for ULTRA 2 YBC752 Blue because it is totally wrong. So wrong that I am amazed that International do not accept its own error during my conversations with their technical sales.

I can only describe the actual colour when applied to a hull, as being petrol blue as against mid to dark blue. Aware that antifouling changes colour when it gets wet, or for that matter when it dries out after getting wet. But it will not change that much.

Interested to hear of owners in the Chichester harbour area, experiences with alternative antifouling makes. Particularly anybody who has switched from Interspeed ULTRA

With the advent of all this Eco warrior stuff and the fact that manufacturers cannot add the nasty chemicals that make the stuff work in the first place , I'd guess things change , for a start the amount of copper is a lot less than it used to be, you only have to weigh the same 4 or 5 litre tin from one a few years back.
Next time your in a chandlery pick at random a cheap one and an expensive one, be it of the same capacity then pick them both up, you will find one heavier than the other and that's because of what's in it. You can of course add your own copper powder, I'm sure will be illegal and thin it down.
Chichester of late has been one of the worst areas for fouling in the country so expect a mid season scrub to keep the speed up and the fuel bill down. The worm is the worst ive seen in many years to the point where I was looking at engine faults on boats to find the props and bottom covered after a short time in worm.

Previous boat used to use ultra then it superseded to ultra 2 and that was just about the same colour match to the older ultra not noticeable really.
But that was green not blue.

I think you will find it contains copper(I) oxide rather than metallic copper !
