Do you know those bits of wood down the side of the berth that stop the mattress sliding off? Do they have a correct term, is it simply fiddles?

And where can these be bought in a plainish hardwood moulding?

Thanks

No fancy name. Just buy a length of suitable wood and attach to bunk edge. Some are cut away in the middle part so that they don't dig into your thighs when seated. Typical section 75*15mm with 40mm showing above the top to restrain the cushion.

If the bunk is to be used for sitting on then far better is velcro sewn to the matress and screwed down to the inner side of base board. Matress stays on but is comfortable to sit on the edge. Just a thought olewill

Thank you!
You have just solved something which has been intruiging me since I bought Khamsin. So simple when you know the answer!

That is a bit like saying " it is called wood"

Yes, but more subtle and polite..?

I have more trouble with the seat-back cusions on the dinette, as they tend to fly around as we tack. I don't find that velcro works that well until you have so much that it will hold you in place, should the cushion be missing (can I have my sweater back, please?). Am considering using a caravan annexe moulding and luff tape.

Rob.
