We have a problem with our 2002 Azimut 46 Flybridge with Cat C9 engines with ZF Gearbox.
The throttle controllers send an electrical signal to MicroCommander cable actuators in the engine room which act on the engine throttle and gear box.
We exercise the throttles prior to start up, but have found during cruising that the port rpm spuriously increases, sometimes correcting itself and other times not - nor will it respond to the throttle control when this happens. Additionally at tick-over the gear box does not always respond to throttle movements.
These problem occur at both helm stations.
Opening up the MicroCommander actuator box, it all looks in good order and the cable ends are securely fixed at both ends.

Any suggestions welcomed!

The MC system normally will emit a series of tones to indicate the origin of most problems.
All in the back of the owners manual along with a fault tracing guide.
A couple of our recent
" problems" were solved by turning the thing off and on again.
Inspection of the wiring and control boxes revealed nothing.
Possibly engine synchronization problem?
