OK .. sinks again ..

Gvkfc3Jl.jpg

New to boat - I have put tags to say which is which ... RED is SW .. BLUE is FW

OK .. I look at the sinks and SW one is 34cm x 30cm ... with standard size plug-hole. The FW one is 34cm x 23cm ... but has a huge drain ....

The SW one can be plugged with those over size dome universal plugs - but the FW one cannot.

Logic ? Would it not be more logic to have the FW to the 'pluggable' sink - saving water in use ?? SW - we can pump to hearts content ...

Pros and cons ?

Looks to me its designer to use the big sink with SW to wash dishes with plug in and the FW in the small sink to just rinse the SW off the dishes with FW

A suitably sized plastic bowl if shallow enough it could sit under the fresh water tap, then moved to the bigger sink when filled.

Your boat is large enough for a decent sized FW tank and also a calorifier then you will reserve SW for initial swilling of cruddy crockery in the cockpit bucket and use both sinks for FW with a suitable mixer tap and pressure FW system.

I would think you would want to modify the smaller sink outlet to permit use of a plug. I am a fan of wash in dertergent rinse in clean water then drain. However I would also think you might want to modify water supplies so you can direct fresh water to either sink. Or add another FW tap to large sink. Yes neat how you can swivel outlets down to permit fitting a cover over sinks. But I do wonder how often when cooking you would do that. A sink can be like another work surface especially in rough water. Experience will show what you want or like. ol'will

HW and Heater systems were removed by previous owner after a flooding incident. The 'radiators' are still fitted in cabins.

She has two FW tanks ... the original 40lt up in the bow with a 100lt flexi tank under port main cabin settee ... daft system where fwd tank fills up - then drains to flexi tank.
Yard who fitted the flexi tank actually plumbed it to the SW inlet !!

Haven't decided what to do with this yet ... after correcting the connection to FW ...
