I put this on the Mobo forum but obviously no-one else thought they were interesting!
These are the bases that the 'smokin' epoxy' backing plates are for.
Like most American sport cruisers the side decks are almost non existent so to maximum foot room I decided to move the stanchions from the deck to the gunwale. They need to be strong so to add to the stiffness I decided to 'bling' them by matching the shape of the windows. The rails will be made separately and slid over the base stubs and then pinned. Just another example of the 'make it up as you go along' philosophy of the small builder/renovator.:nonchalance:
