Interesting Guardian read: Sailing and the relationship to oceans

I just started the new book by David Afulabia - not the one mentioned in the article, which (apparently) is about all the world's oceans.., but is, rather, about just the Med. Seemed like a good place to begin, as it's fewer than 1000 pages...

Probably many here identify with the author's father - only comfortable at sea. I don't know if I'd go quite that far.., but I do hop on long deliveries pretty often just to get out there.

I don't really agree with the notion, expressed in the article, that yachting is a particularly "green" activity.., but that's okay.., i can live with myself.

If anyone else is interested in these books they will find them more easily if they spell the author's name ABULAFIA.
