I have my boat for sale in the usual places and on checking the figures of people who have viewed my advert I thought I would give a comparison here.

FWIW..............

4 days online with both........

eBay classified advert as of 7am today 497 viewed.

Boats & Outboards as of 7am today 144 viewed.

Its also up on Appolo duck and Boatshop24 but viewing figures for these sites are not known.

I thought some of you may find of interest.

Cheers
Rob

I'm not sure that the number of viewers is indicative of the number of potential interested buyers. I would have thought that anyone surfing the Boats & Outboards site is interested in boats and actually might want to buy one whereas a lot of E Bay surfers are tyre kickers only. Anyway the most important thing is which site sells your boat and at what price

Mike,
I agree that all are not potential buyers, but if your surfing eBay its not the sort of thing you happen to stumble across!
In fact my previous boat was sold via the eBay advert.
I guess you choose your advertising medium and makes your choice!
I just wanted to provide an unbiased view..........

Dave,

To be honest I was thinking the same thing.......!

I did however notice a simillar trend with the two sites when I sold the Bayliner last Nov!

Plug? who me? oh go on then.........

When I sold my last boat, I built a web page on the back of one of my business sites. This enabled me to set, in detail, the complete history, condition, spec of the boat with loads of pics. Some sites let you put the URL in your ad, some don't, but it does mean that if you get a semi-interesting enquiry, you can give them more info - it does save wasting your time dealing with tyre kickers!

....a few months ago I put mention on this forum of my old boat being on ebay... and attached a link as you have done... thought it wouldn't do any harm. Powers that be told me off, removed said link and told me links from this forum to ebay were a no no.... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Rob, got to say your boat looks lovely, good value to for a quality twin diesel, even though its not a Tomahawk! Hope it sells and gets you back in a flybridge soon /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
