Gladys came out today, so I raced off to the yard to see how mucky she was, and was pleasantly surprised to see only a bit of green weed, particularly in comparison to the coppercoat or whatever boat next door...

Yeap, that'll be eroding. I might try a hard scrubbable next year as I have the 'dive' scrub option which worked really well this year - but I think if you have 3 scrubs in a year with soft erodable, there isn't much left by this time of year. I've never understood why it's still blue though!

Larry and I (and many others) are surrounded by Oyster layings. It's a sad fact of life that the nutrient rich waters that makes them grow well here also gives you furry bottoms. In fact this year the Oyster Farmers/Fishermen? are complaining that the pesky things have grown too large for market. They've dumped great piles of the things -useful only for reproduction apparently

Thats interesting, I'm moaning about my Coppercoat and the boat comes out cleaner than Gladys! Better keep quiet!

I have used Seajet Shogun for the past 2 seasons on the Orwell. This is on a day racer, which I scrub - over the side not pressure wash - before every race, average every 2 weeks. At the end of the year she came out looking much better than the pic, and still pretty blue. I do put 2 coats on, and extra at leading edges and waterline.

I talked to the Seajet guys at the Boat Show 3 years ago as I was p*****d off with Optima, and they said that although it was an eroding a/foul it was fairly hard and could be scrubbed regularly.
I have found it very effective, but then so was Optima the first few years I used it!!
I wonder if they change the formulation without telling anyone?
