I have visited South Holland Inland Waters for 5 of the last 7 years. I was dismayed /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif to find at the weekend that my boat insurance (GJW) cruising area, UK inland/Coastal and English Channel Brest to Elbe limits, covers me as far as the locks at Flushing or Roompot. Once I'm through the Insurance is invalid. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I have just extended the range to include European Inland Waterways, not north of 63N, or east of 15E, or south of 42N or west of 15W. Cost for extension = £0.00. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Are you covered?

Sounds like GJW

My policy excludes singlehanding
Ring ring
"But I want to do singlehanding"
"OK then now you've told us we know about it"
"Cost?"
"Nothing - just a note made on your file."

I suppose they have to have a basic policy but it is good that they are flexible - better your car insurance wouldn't be.

Just checked with GJW about our policy.

Because we berth with MDL, we automatically get the extended cruising range as well as a "security" discount on the policy + a few other bits & bobs.
So anyone berthed at Woolverstone will already have this cover.

Are there many European inland waterways west of 15W?
