I was wondering whether a trailer sailor can be classed as a dinghy. My boat is the same size as a Wayfarer yet as far as I can see it is classified as a yacht, simply because it has a tiny cabin.
Can anybody recommend a good insurance company?
thanks alot,
Alasdair

I insured my trailered 16ft Microplus 500 cabin cruiser third party and the insurance company categorised it as a dingy. I phoned insurance company to check this was correct and they assured me it was. I can not say if they are good or bad thou as I've never had to make a claim as yet! I will dig out their details if you are intrested.

I used a broker dealer called "Diveguard" and their contact details are :-
17a Potter Hill,
Greasbrough,
Rotterham
S61 4NU
tel. 01709 555221/563332
e mail: diveguard@btinternet.com

They charged me £57 for third party liability insurance up to 2 million pounds cover. This was the cheapest I could find at the time, i'm not sure if the cover is any good.
