Any views on Bishop Skinner for insuring a 27'6" 1986 yacht? - they seem competitive, they're endorsed by the RYA and RNLI...

Anybody had any particularly good or bad experiences?

Thanks,

I tried them for quotes a few years back but found St Margarets and Navigators&General cheaper. Now back with Navigators as they cover for the odd class race and Round the Island Race though there are certain restrictions.

We insure our motorboat with Haven Knox. Put in a claim four weeks ago, cheque came by return post. No discussion, no quibble, just a compliments slip and a cheque. Can't fault that can you.

I insured my 7.25 m Waarschip with them and have no complaints. They are in fact assisting me well right now in sorting a claim against anothe company. service is personal and polite.

good luck!

I switched to them from Navigators and General because they were cheaper for my 26 ft yacht. I made a claim last year and found them very prompt and helpful. The claim was settled speedily with no fuss. I experienced long delays with the boatyard, but not with the insurer or surveyor.

Depends what side of the fence you're on I guess! I had to make a claim against their insured once. (He admitted liability). I found them unreasonable and had to fight.
