How many here have actually read word for word their whole insurance policy?

How many here that have actually read word for word their whole insurance policy have FULLY understood ALL the clauses?

A few years ago I took out a 'boat in build' policy through a broker. I read the policy quite carefully - I can't recall the exact wording, it was quite convoluted as these things often are, but it boiled down to something like:

The following are excluded...........
....
......
Everything else is excluded.

I rang the broker and had to read the wording to him about three times until I got him to understand that NOTHING was covered under the policy! He said he would ring the underwriter and get back to me, which he did. He congratulated me on my careful reading of the policy, yes there was an unfortunate mistake, the same policy wording had been in use for several years and I was the first person ever to bring this to their attention. Oh yes, it was a large insurance company!

So, always read the small print!

you could also add "and not realised that if somethings not mentioned, you're not covered for it by default......."
