Looking for all risk insurance policy for a swinging tidal drying mooring on a river (Stour) boat is a titchy 19’ bilge, (Fantasie)

Got a current third party only option with Basic-Boat but not found all risk.

Mooring is maintained and official, boat value not much but would be a pain to either remove outboard each trip or have it pinched (it would be stowed inside boat) and find a good replacement.

Pantaenius maybe. This from them when I moved into a mooring on the Dart in 2021:

“The terms and conditions of the insurance do not specify any particular mooring requirements or restrictions. As such, provided that the vessel remains in the cruising area noted on the policy, the vessel remains covered in or out of the water for the 12 month period of the insurance.”

Humm , my moorings are all drying type : a Insurance Broker advised me years ago , that a swinging mooring might prove probamatic for the Insurance Company if it 'dries' , as the Insurance Company might view it as additional risk from Thieves who can easily access the boat to steal items : a swinging mooring on its own is considered OK , but , a Drying Mooring that dries might be added risk

Just saying

Might state that not all swinging moorings are drying , so should one voluntarily declare that they are to a Broker /Insurance Company ?

I think one of the difficulties you might encounter is that often insurance companies require a recent survey before they will issue comprehensive cover. Survey costs for lower value craft are disproportionately high.

Depends if you want them to pay up when you make a claim - it is then that they will take an interest…

I use GJW on a swinging mooring on the River Deben. You will probably need a recent survey for comprehensive insurance though which could be expensive for boat.

Actually my boat has never been officially surveyed, nor my mooring, but GJW tell me it's covered.

Of course I won't be able to judge how well they'll do until I actually make a claim!
