Sorry I did not wait to read all the posts.
However may I add that having worked in both the Motor Trade and for an Insurance Company and had various claims over the years some of which involved arguments between loss adjusters and loss assessors one thing which I try to do now ensure that my boat and trailer are insured by the same insurance company which insure my car.
I insured a boat (with trailer) last week and was reminded by the Insurer that while the boat is being towed it was not insured on the boat insurance but would be insured by whoever insured the car.

I had two 4x4s insured on an Admiral Multi-car policy.
The Grand Vitara was about £240 and the Shogun (5000 miles per year) was about £220

I also use Admiral Multi Car.... It saves me a fortune! My two cars would cost over £1000 to insure seperately.... They're both done for £600 with Admiral and one of them is a very high group.
