I have just changed my insurance company.
I was sent my reminder from Fastnet, who I have been insured with for many years. This year the premium was £514. I went on the WOA web site followed a link, and got a quote from Navigators and General; £210. Cover is the same, and the excess is only £200, as opposed to £500 from Fastnet.
Needless to say, I have swapped companies.
I know Its a bit late to ask, but I had to act quickly. It almost seems too good to be true. So, I would like to here from anyone who has had dealings with Navigators & General, good or bad.

8 years with them either direct or via Colemans. Sadly two claims - someone bashed us in a marina and then 'drove off' and a grounding. Both claims handled without any fuss or problem.

500 squid is a MASSIVE premium! Never paid more than £230 in 30 years (& it used to be under £150).

That's what I thought, it doesn't pay to be loyal, it just kept creeping up over the years. When I saw the figure was over £500 I decided enough was enough.

Yes but the insurance company are clever as they ask for surveys if you want to change and own a older boat.

Not necessarily, I changed a couple of years ago when boat was 20, and new insurer didn't want a survey. Don't think it's ever had a survey!

My Natwest house Ins renewal came in @ £360.
went on line Natwest it came out @ £220
phoned them the renewal is now £180, £22 cheaper than last year & they paid out £260 for a watch lost o/b whilst on holiday this year.

the £180 was cheaper than Topcashback too

I never had survey when I bought her, the insurance cover was only for transportation, and laid up while refitting. I had to have her surveyed before launch, and a new valuation. This was done three years ago, just e-mailed a copy to them and all was fine.

FWIW, I use Desmond Cheers (the brokers) and they check out my cover & premium for me each year. Occasionaly they recommend a change & notify the new company of my track record so no survey of form filling needed.

I use a broker that I have used for over 20 years, I now think he is not looking after my best interests as I have just done a direct deal with aviva for multiple cars, so much cheaper.
