Boat insurance is usually a lot cheaper in a marina than on a swinging mooring,no one above says were they are.
A lot cheaper? What I compared it was about 20% difference at most. I could get bigger savings by shopping around, being more restrictive on who could skipper, or restricting the area of operation (if I have no plans to sail to the channel islands this year - why cover that risk).

That’s a fair point - we are on a pontoon (not connected to the land, no power or water) about a mile up a creek. It’s a condition that I wear a life jacket if singlehanded.

Important to have cover for wreck removal ,should the unthinkable happen the cost of recovering a sunken boat from a marina or harbour could cost you your house.

Fully comp policies usually cover but not all 3d party policies do.
