A new user, so be careful with me!
We need an instrument consul/pod to fit the binacle on our pre-owned 37' bavaria.
We need to accomodate four square standard instrument displays, ie: wind, boat speed, depth and autohelm together with a Navman 5605 chartplotter.
We are quite capable of making any holes required in the unit from templates and fitting it.
Anyone know of manufacturers of such units. We want a proper unit and not home made from a biscuit tin etc?
Thanks in advance. <span style="color:blue"> </span>

You have obviously seen the recent PBO article! Whoever does the pedestal for the Bav will have a suiable instrument binnacle. Failing that Lewmar, Edson, Gioit, Jeffa, Plastimo and others may be able to help.

Re: Headstrong

If the B37 is like the B32 and I think it is then the problem is not so much getting a nice pod but how to fit it to the binnacle. The problem is that the tubing on the top of the binnacle is only 20m/m and at an awkward angle. I would suggest that you use the existing GRP plate in which the instruments are mounted to mount the chartplotter. Then get a smaller pod that will mount on the 20m/m tube. If this plate has holes for existing instruments you could make a new one from perspex. I don't know how big the chart plotter is but you may have enough room left for some of the instruments so a two instrument pod (very neat) will do. Another idea would to change individual log and dept for unit showing both.
