I have a small plastic instrument pod at one helm, and wish to replace it with a bigger one so that I can add a small chart plotter. I have looked all the chandlers catalogues I can find without success, Does anyone know a supplier, preferably of ones made of GRP?

Or build your own custom made pod using closed call foam and glass it. can be any shape and the perfect size.

Add some features not always on manufactured pods, like a good drip line under the hood and an opening in just the right place on the underside with a raised entry point ensuring no water ingress.

Perfect fit for your instruments, not cramped or spread out to fill the area.

Colour co ordinate the background and cover with a clear or tinted sheet of safety glass.

Install a vent to keep it cool and dry.

I'm sure there are many other desirable features you could include.

Most of the pedestal manufacturers do them: Edson have them in S/S- check with Edson Europe, Lewmar/Whitlock do them in GRP- check your chandler, and Jefa do them in a Range of sizes, suitable for a chartplotter- check the 'Net!
