I would like to fit an instrument console on my coach roof housing. I need one big enough to take the GPS and possibly three other instruments. Anyone know where/who sells them. Thanks in Anticipation (TiA).

NavPod makes a long unit that would mount on 1" stainless tubing bent over the companionway. It comes in a three or four instrument size housings.

I don't know how deep your pockets are but I didn't wish to spend the money they were asking for an off the shelf panel so I made my own. I started with a cardboard mock-up (right angle triangle, cross section and sufficently long to contain the 3 instruments), made a wooden mould and took it along to a small company making fibre glass products. They finished the mould by applying plasticine to all the internal edges and corners of the mould and smoothed it out with a ball - producing the rounded edges and corners on the finished product. They were very helpful and charged me £10.

Or, you could build your own from foam.

just glue together and sand to required shape (rounded corners); apply 3 layers of 256g CSM and fair with Microballoons, a lick of paint (2 pot urethane) and you have.

No compromising, you get exactly what you want, not too big with blank areas, not too small you have leave some instruments out.

Go on Avago an agoodweekend.
