I have a Matsutec HP33a and Garmin GPS 126 that have sat next to each other on my instrument panel above the hatch garage for quite a few years.
Yesterday I was about half way around Poole Harbour when both instruments started to complete about poor GPS coverage.
After a bit of fiddling around and checking my phone GPS I worked out that if I turned off the Matsutec the Garmin immediately found the satellites again and aquired a position.
I tried turning off the AIS tx on the Matsutec, but that made no difference.
Both are connected to a NMEA multiplexer that feeds a Yakker WiFi bridge and an Onwa KMR-6 NMEA repeater.
I tried turning off the Onwa, but not the multiplexer as that required pulling the front off the panel which as I was single handed was not really an option.
Any ideas?
