No doubt this type of enquiry has popped up before, but I am after an instrument bridge that fits over the hatchway of a Sadler 25.

Does anyone know of any companies that manufacture mouldings or anything similar?

Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have contacted Andy Middleton, but he was unable to assist.

G'day Merseymariner, and welcome to the YBW forums.

Have you considered building an instrument pod using foam or Klegacell, very simple, rewarding and you get what you want.

Avagoodweekend......

In that case have a word with Steve Roberts, his business is based in the barge at Liverpool Marina. His work is superb.

Before I get shot down, this solution comes from a friend whos instrument pod looked as if it had grown above the hatch garage.
He used a white plastic flower trough from a garden centre with the instruments mounted in black perspex, but I guess varnished ply would work.

I have seen several efforts that started as square section gutter downpipe. Some look like gutter downpipe. Some look very good. I suppose it depends on how artistic you are with a hacksaw.

I have two areas inside the sprayhood either side of hatch ... here I have water creeps under and invariably slops over the deflecting ridge. I have long considered fixing a pod either side to have various in .... short flower troughs may be the answer .... plus a couple of Daffodils and Dahlias ??

I have one on my e-boat made of wood which is curved to match the curve of the decking. It bolts through the hatch and is done up with wing nuts. Works well for me and stays out during the season. If you want a picture/dimensions etc. please pm.

Cheap, simple and effective solution - get a white Taxi sign (the sort that goes on the car roof), costs about £10. They are very UV stable, can be sealed at the base and are shatter proof.

Hi,
I had one made for about £40. last year from these people:
Terry of T.N. H. Laminates on 01736 759670 or fax 01736 759671.
It's not bad but as I have been out of the water all season and am likely to be this year again I canot say more than that. They have two sizes, one for a Westerly Fulmar and one for a Konsort which is the one I have.
