Installing Volvo Penta EVC Display- problems

Just installed a Volvo Penta EVC-C Display on my single engined D6 Nimbus 340. On switch on I get 'incorrect database' come up on the display, even though all part numbers are compatible. Any suggestions???

Nope sorry. I fitted one 4 yrs ago and it worked fine, on EVC version A or B. I'm now about to fit one to new engines, EVC C I think, all parts here in boxes but not actually done it yet. Will let you know if I get same result. I have in preparation had extra software loaded on to the engines by Volvo dealer, to let me see more data ( mainly fuel related)

yes you have to press your evc display and hold it for 3 seconds not on the new bit your old one, the one that controls the display, now I cant remeber the 2 but there should be installation details in the book that came with it. It then downloads info from your evc to the display.

What your getting is normal.

If I can find the instalation sheet its not in the blue book its a separate sheet, I will let you have it if I can find it, failing that call your nearest volvo and say its been re set can they remind you.

Its the 2 buttons you press that I cant remember.

Yes it's a config problem... you have added an extra component and the HCU doesn't know about it.

Hold down the back button and the big selector knob for 3 seconds and it should go into auto config and re build the database.
