Hi everybody,
I'm currently considering installing mast steps to my Nauticat 441 ketch. After looking around I've yet to reach the conclusion on a step spacing. Selden suggest on their page to use 50 cm (19 in) spacing between steps on alternate sides of the masts. Various other suppliers have suggested anything between 30 cm (12 in) and 60 cm (24 in).
What kind of experience you have regarding steps? What is a step interval for a comfortable climb of the stick? Any advice?
