Insta-Lock vs Weaver Snap Davits?

I saw an older thread where the nature of having a 'fixed' protrusion from the transom caused serious injury.
I need something like this as a solution when sailing in 'calmer' and less windy conditions and see that Polymarine do a quick release option for the bracket arms that only leaves a small plate on the transom step.
Does anyone have experience of the Polymarine product? It looks like a clone of the Weaver product but lower cost.
Are the dinghy pads interchangeable with the Weaver system?

Guess not too many poster here (predominately sailing?) use these devices which are aimed primarily at MOBOs with bathing platforms.
