Dear All,

Does anyone know the whereabouts of the above vessel as it may have sustained damage when it hit my bow roller whilst attempting to berth at Haslar Marina on the 7th June 2014 - Unfortunately I am having difficulty in tracking the owner down.

Many thanks in advance

Thanks John & Robbie - I have already looked @ that website and enquired re:- finance through Lombard who declined to assist due to data protection act.

KR Terry

If it's financed then it's p1. So, spend £23 and get certif of registry (just ring the helpline and they explain how to do this; it's easy and I think you pay by card or bank transfer but can't fully remember). That gives you the name and address of the owner (which might be company, but that doesn't matter). Subject to the para below, send them a nice letter making your claim. If no response send a letter before action. Then issue proceedings. There's no point farneying around with these things. (I'm assuming you have evidence of course :D).

That said, there is one glitch. The boats seem, from website, to be owned by someone other than inspire yachting. They say CSTS, whoever that is. The person who owes you the money is primarily the person who committed the negligent damage, probably the skipper at the time. He/she is a different person from the company that owns the boat. To pursue the owner of the boat, as opposed to the skipper whose name you don't know, you have to attach the claim to the boat. I THINK you can do that, but I'm not 100% sure and it is a fine legal point. I'd google it but I'm rushing out of the office right now to aeroporto. Maybe google that point

If you need me to issue the proceedings for you just let me know. I think the filing fee is £80 or so, which you get back when you win

If he's guilty cases like this stink , no one owned up to the damage on my boat as it was the marina staff it didn't take much proving luckily and they fixed the damage.

This post won't do this guys reputation any good if he us the skipper, keep smiling terry I'm sure if you guide him in the direction of your post he will be nice before it gets worse.
