I thought I would post my solution to what I think is a common problem. My injector was absolutely rusted solid into the head various slide hammers failed to shift it. I ended up having a puller specially made. Although it cost a few bob it was a lot less than destroying the injector and possibly damaging the head. Thought this might be of use to somone in the same predicament.

A couple of turns on the two long bolts and a couple of taps with a hammer and out it came. Had it tested today and it is working fine.

Hi, Could you explain how it works. What part of the injector does it get hold of? Two studs project out of the head on either side of the injector; are these part of the equation?

Wow. Were you still struggling with that?
Glad you've got a solution. Hire it out rather than look at it.
I think I'd have just lifted the head and worked on it on the bench.
