Hi there,
I thought I had diesel bug....but seems it wasn't that which was the problem!
After changing the filter started bleeding the system. Found that there was no diesel coming out of the (I think) the injector pump. It's the undone joint in the photo.
I took the big nut off the top of the pump, the one with the spring in.
Diesel is coming out of the pipe from the pre-filter.
Tried turning it over with the pipe off, no joy.
Any idea's? ?

It had been stood for about 5 months. Last week I ran it for about 3 hrs. ...it took a while to start. I turned it off and tried it restart....and it wouldn't. Thought the filter was blocked.....changed that. Also took the pre-filter out.

Are you absolutely sure that the fuel cut off (for stopping) isn't doing its thing? Completely, definitely, yes-I-have-tried-moving-it-and-its-definitely-not-cutting-off-the-fuel sure?

Anyone know what happens if I undo the 3 bolts holding it down and prise it out? I undid the bolts but it seemed welded by the gasket to the block.

Avoid taking it off. The "gasket" is actually a shim or shims that set the height of the pump and therefore the timing. set at the factory and should not be disturbed. If you do ever take it off - which is not necessary for bleeding - make sure you keep the shims save.

Thanks, noted!

It was that bolt that has the spring in. Slackened it off a bit, diesel appeared. After trying different tensions got it running. Happy days! need to buy a torque wrench now....
