Ingrained Rust Stain Removal?

After a few treatments with Gel Kleen, (10% Oxalic if I'm reading the tiny print right), scraping some softened thick rust off, and a final Gel Kleen left on for 18 hours, it's sparkling like new.

Thanks to all for the help.

Nice .... well done ...

May I suggest a real polish and maybe a barrier film to keep it from happening again ?

You may /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif but the new pump has a plastic base, and some rubber feet which raise it off the surface, so nothing to rust and no standing water, (hopefully), and I cant be arsed /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Bloody hell!! now you've mentioned it, I'm guiltily thinking I ought to do it ..... what would you use as a barrier film?

Thanks to all for the help.

The new pump is an Italian copy of the Jabsco with 4 securing points/black pump body, whereas the previous pump was the Jabsco with 3 securing points/white body. The new pump came with 4 rubber feet to raise it off the surface, and dampen the noise. It also has a plastic base, rather than the previous metal base, so wont rust.

Hopefully any water that either leaks, or gets in by other means, will run away, and the rust problem will never reoccur.

Thanks to all for the help.
