Hi,
I am in the process of buying a Cap Camarat 725 WA.
It has a Volvo TAMD22 - 105Hp engine.
On sea trial it was a little choppy and there wasn't much sea room, with sailing dinghies around etc.
The boat only made 14 knots at 4000 rpm - I am not sure how clean the bottom was.
Does anyone know whether the boat would originally have been capable of planing properly i.e. 16+ knots?
There is nothing on line about these boats.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds a bit underpowered - I,ve been looking around at 6 mtr Cap Camarats and they are mostly petrol outboard 200hp upwards

That's my concern. My guess is 200hp pushes them well. Being diesel it will have more torque so will swing higher pitch/ bigger prop.
What I'd like to find out is what the performance was when new. If it originally did 16-18 knots then I can work towards something.
There's nothing on the web as it's a 1999 boat.

I am looking at a Nissan 700 with a TAMD22P, did you get your Cap Camarat, and how did it perform fuel wise?
The data I have found points towards 4gallons per hour at 2500rpm, 4000rpm is close to WOT, that would be a high fuel use.
