I have just aquired (at a knock down price!) a 19'6 GRP yacht which I am told is known as a 'Classic 19' It has a simulated clinker hull, a deep keel with a lot of lead ballast, and bilge plates, and full standing headroom. First attempts indicate she sails reasonably well and is very seaworthy. Does anyone know anything about them? Who designed them, vital statistics (sail area, displacement etc) and what approximate date is mine - sail No 17?
