I have just recieved my berth renewal notice from Premier Marinas.

An incredible increase of 12% over last years charges!!

How can they justify this when inflation is about 3%.

Time to move on I think.

Supply and demand. They supply AND demand. They do, however, have to stay on the right side of the monopolies commission. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif So maybe they're subject to demand too.

Massive demand means they can do it and you'll find the same problem most places plus a long wait.

I am not defending the outrageous increase but haven't they only fairly recently taken on Southsea? If so they may think there is some catchup to be done to bring them in line with the local market.

I left Chichester Marina soon after they took over and started hiking the prices - I also found them to be extremely arrogant.

I can't fault the staff at chichester, they are very helpful, polite and friendly. It's the people who pay there wages who are the arrogant [--word removed--]

Are they sending out April renewal notices already? or do Premier operate a 1 year from when you started thing?

I understand - helpful of Southsea originally to offer that.

But yes, 12% is painful.

Sadly predictable though - Premier buy a cheapish ( for berths) underdeveloped marina , polish it up a bit, & realise they can charge more, or rather they knew all along.

Shame though, our neighbour at Northney moved there last year because of the low price.
