Santa brought me a new set of fenders but my adaptor didn't fit to inflate them.

the fenders have a screw-in insert which is removed for inflation so i'm wondering if there's a special pump & adaptor I need

any clues please?

thanks
Frank

Are the fenders the type sold by Compass Marine (not Compass24). If so they normally supply a pale blue insert for inflation Shown on their website (hints & tips page) (compassmarine.co.uk). I have spare ones, PM address if required and I'll pop one in the post.

You dont need an adaptor for most fenders.Just push the the end of an electric inflator to cover the valve of the fender. This will inflate the fender without using an adaptor. The valve is a one way valve,so it will let air in but not out.I,ve damaged fenders by using the push in adaptors.

Not sure about Polyform fenders.

I bought 6 Plastimo fenders that do have screw in's where you use the edge of a coin to undo.

I found that you had to undo them a few times then use a garage forecourt pump to inflate. And yes, air came out and you had to quickly screw the valve up again.

They are unlike the Anchor type of fender where you stick in a metal needle to inflate.

I may have it wrong, but they were very good value and seem to be lasting well.
