Anyone know of a reliable inflatable repairer in the Plymouth area ? I think I need a new short tube ,or atleast a professional repair, near the bow of a seago dinghy .

Why not a dyi attempt. 2 part glue, thin coat and leave for 20 mins or so till dry to the touch, same again and then a final coat, leave a few minutes and then press together and keep the pressure on for 24 hrs. Has always worked for me. If a larger gash then sew it together first.

Otherwise I think there's an outfit called Tamar Inflatables who were recommended to me, but my efforts meant I didn't get to use them.

Thanks for your replies chaps . I think I will try a repair first but the damage is close the tubes ends joining bands (if that makes sense ). are the repair patches any different to the dinghy material . I have a large piece of dinghy material which was meant to fit under a remote fuel tank to protect the air deck but was never used .

It is PVC and you can get kits of material and the correct adhesive from chandlers or from Polymarine. Do not attempt to bodge with unknown materials and adhesive.

Thanks for that advice . I have the 2pot Polymarine adhesive and the material is unused but it is identical to the tube material so presuming that will effect a proper repair .

Definitely do your own repair. Many years ago (before I knew better) I had a dingy repair done by that big place near Southampton docks which apparently 'services' many big ships liferafts/lifejackets/etc. Repair came apart the first time dingy was left in the sun on Studland beach leaving me to swim back to the boat.

Hi
Now I am a little upset! leave a rubber repair to professional liferaft service company and the repair fails? Did you report this to the repair agent?
But thanks for the warning!
My very old avon is in the hands of such a specialist in the Essex. I will let you know the result after a trial, which I will make before loading it onto the yacht!
