Inflatable kayak, any opinions please?

We have two of these http://www.advancedelements.com/firefly.html. Weigh about 15lb each. Decided on them rather than Advanced Elements 2 man for several reasons: flexibility for independent use - we prefer to paddle separately when exploring, ease of inflation on deck, weight and handling. Fine for sheltered waters and track well for their type. Well made and robust.

Just adding to above post, amazing after sales service! I ripped a handle off, damaging outer shell by wrapping it around a prop after our manson dragged (had to mention anchors, hehe). Their prices for replacement bits are not extortionate.
One man wouldn't work for me, the dog proudly sits in the front seat and ample room for groceries too :)

That's good to hear - but did you mean after sales service from Advanced Elements in the USA, or from a UK dealer/distributor? (We bought our Fireflies in Decathlon (UK) as we could see them locally.) Two person wouldn't work for us as we'd want to go in different directions :)

USA after sales in our case. A good note on 2 man kayaks/canoes, make sure the weak crew member sits in front otherwise they tend to let you do all the work! Tried and tested, husband and daughters alike :)

Thanks for that information. Yes, I remember paddling a borrowed Canadian (we have only single kayaks - 6 now) down the Wye accompanying canoe club children in kayaks. I didn't have the paddle 'flick' action of the rear paddler, so to prevent going in circles gave one stroke for every two of my wife's in the bows.

We had an inflatable Kayak, and now have a Redpaddle SUP. I prefer the SUP, however IMHO the inflatable tender is the best boat for exploring when anchored. The kids prefer the SUP, it has more beach appeal.
