Does anyone have a recommendation for a UV resistant dinghy cover?

The one I bought from Marine Superstore had to be sent back (in pieces) because it disintegrated within weeks in the weather of Corfu.

Are you looking at one that just fits over the boat to keep the water out or something a tad more like:

This was custom made for me from Sunbrella(TM) and sewn by a normal awning maker

No just something to keep the sun off when it's stored upside down on deck or floating right way up in the water. I reckon that it can look after itself when it's in use.

Mine is much nicer to sit on when sun is very hot, cause material doesnt warm up as quickly. I also have further reinforcement around the sides as fendering, so reckon it is harder to puncture.

if you just want a cover, I would expect this is a bit expensive, but mine sits on the davits permanently.

Thanks for replying but that one, which I've already considered, appears from it's description "...light polyester material... to be similar to the unfit article I bought last year from Marine Superstore.

I know that Plastimo make them but can't find anyone with experience of owning that product.

Don\'t get a Plastimo...

I got one last year. It lasted about 6 months in UK sunshine! I took it back to my local chandlers, who ordered it for me, in shreds; absolute mess, wouldn't even recognise it as a dinghy cover now! Awaiting comment from the Plastimo rep when he next appears!

Cheers,

Jerry

The one I bought....

...from Marine Superstore was shown in their catalogue as a Plastimo product (or at least the pictured cover had a Plastimo logo on it) and as I've said earlier mine too only lasted a matter of weeks - bin liners would have been more "suitable for the purpose".

I reckon that I'll just have to make one or get one made from Acrylic canvas or PVC.
