That's me, My Kipor 3000 Generator after two years of faithfull service ran out of fuel and now refuses to start after refilling. Always started first pull before even after a winter of non use.

Being an inept Mechanic decided it is probably time to have it serviced. Can anyone recommend where I could get this done in the Basingstoke/Hampshire area at reasonable cost.

Cheers

Its a diesel. It needs bleeding to get air out of the high pressure fuel line before it will start again. This should take a mechanic between ten minutes and half an hour if they can find the relevant screws and nuts to loosen and retighten.

Almost at the pint-of-beer remuneration level.

Lol many thanks for the manuals, I can bleed the disel on my boat no problems but this thing is petrol but will read the manuals and see what I can do

Cheers

You've probably checked but the possibility of some crud being drawn out of the tank with the last bit of fuel is fairly high on my list.

Try undoing the float bowl drain screw to see if petrol is getting to the carb, or alternatively to drain any rubbish that may be in there.

My kipor 1300 inverter gen did the same.. it was coincidence on this one that a wire had loosened inside the case at the time of refiling dunno why.. but a check showed no spark.. found a loose wire, connected it again - back to perfect working order.

Checks you can do otherwise.
Spark, is there one ?
On off switch
Petrol in carb..

a quick test is to pour a teaspoon full of fuel mix into the spark plug hole, refit the lug and try then.

hope ya get it sorted.
