As I had a lot of trouble with fumes from my Origo stove I took the advice of a number of people from different forums and applied for a licence to use IDA, When this was turned down I rang to ask why and was told it was not approved for use in stoves, they had received a lot of requests, all of which had been refused. when I asked what it was approved for I was told it's approved for furniture restoration, need I say more?

You may find your meths stove burns better, with less fumes by adding 10% water by volume to the meths. 10% MAX. Standard tip with American type alcohol stoves. NOT pressure stoves.

Had they
a) ever asked Origo who make the blessed things or
b) figures out why they were getting lots of requests
c) Explained why the rest of Europe disagrees with them

"Be a civil servant and hang yer hat on a pension" as Dr Fry used to say to us in the Politics Dept at Leeds (where Daddy Miliband was my prof, and David was about 11 years old!!!!)
