I have one of these http://www.leisurepower.co.uk/acatalog/maxview__omnimax__omni_directional_active_uhf_vhf_.html . I am not sure whether they are amplified or not, but works great.

Do you use it indoors? That is an outdoor aerial usually mounted on a pole or on the mast top as far as i know.

I keep it indoors; it is a bit awkward shape for the cabin, but it is small enough to fit in a corner; i get all the channels

Yes I bought a Glomex which comes with an aerial amplifier. It comes with 20 metres of coax and is intended for use outside though mine sits on its side on a shelf in the fore cabin. Works absolutely perfectly in Portsmouth Harbour. If I'm in a bad signal area I poke it through the hatch and hoist it up the mast. It is one of my best purchases. Thanks. Alan
