Has anyone changed a Buhk DV10L SME saildrive from direct to indirect cooling and if so how well did it work. How did you do it as well

Nobody seems to know the answer to that one. I had a direct/indirect cooling question on a Bukh 36 here on the forums recently. Don't know if there's anything there that might assist.

If you get a copy of the illustrated parts list for the DV10ME [and DV20] it shows all the parts that would be needed. I suggest that you contact BUKH [UK] Ltd in Poole for more information.
There is also a firm called Martec [I think!] who sold kits to convert engines to indirect cooling. There was an article in PBO some years ago describing these kits.

I looked into this a few years ago whilst rebuilding my DV10L, & Bukh don't do a kit for this model (it's completely different from the heavy weight DV10/20/30 family) My local agent did say they sold a 'universal' kit which would do the job; electric pump, heat exchanger etc for about £200. I never went ahead with it I'm afraid, so can't answer your question.
