Recently I experienced a "breath of fresh air" my 7 year old Icom 505 VHF experienced a fault in the recieve circuit requiring the squelch to be manually broken in order to receive incoming calls, I emailed Icom regarding this issue and had a response with hours, they suggeted I return the unit to them, which I did, less than 36 hours after I had posted the unit to their UK office I had an email stating the unit was repaired, tested and on an overnight delivery back to me....all at no cost! Now I am aware this is quite a common fault on this unit, however Icom still went "above and beyond" with the level of customer service, a rare thing indeed today.
I have no connection whatsoever with Icom, other than being extremely impressed.
